Come With Me

Come With Me

come with me
won’t you come
to meadow sweet
where tall grass
dances with the wind
where flowers lay out color
like artist palette
where Sun drenches
all things
in perfect Love
and rainbows come to rest

come with me
won’t you come
and dance
spinning like tops
till we dizzy drop
giggling all the while
making angel patterns
with our forms

come with me
won’t you come
run and play
stay the day
in meadow sweet
from worlds retreat
just you and i
breathe in crisp air
place flowers in our hair
blow kisses
to the fishes
laughing at us
from the creek

come with me
won’t you come
spread our wings
and soar above
race the birds
up in the sky
dip and tag
the tree tops high
and sing with stars
when night does come
in chorus with
illusive owl

come with me
won’t you come
and share
the wonder
the magic
the fun

come with me…

Chakra Series - Root Chakra

The Root Chakra
Grounding/Connection
by Regina Ann

According to Wikipedia, Chakra derives from the Sanskrit word for “wheel” or “turning.” The chakras are considered to be a number of wheel-like vortices that exist within the subtle body being the focal points for the reception and transmission of energies.  It is generally accepted that there are seven main chakras in the body system which include the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown.

Many traditions, therapies and disciplines have found connections between the health of each chakra and the health of specific areas of the physical, mental and emotional bodies. When life energy is allowed to flow through the energy points, chakras, with ease and in balance, the body systems respond in balance and harmony. Through life experiences and daily life we may develop blockages that become trapped in one or more chakra resulting in imbalance and disharmony. Those of us who work in the fields of healing commonly see the physical, mental and emotional results of these blockages.

In an effort to promote healing we will look in depth at each of the commonly accepted chakras over the next few months. Along with information that is widely accepted pertaining to each chakra, each article will also include some real world pertinent experiences with that chakra.

The Root Chakra ~ The Root Chakra center is located at the base of the spine. The root chakra grounds us in physical existence (our bodies and the material world). This chakra is related to instinct, security, survival and basic human potentiality and said to be responsible for the fight-or-flight response.

A balanced root chakra results in a healthy desire for the basics of life such as food, shelter, comfort, etc. The resulting inner state of being from a balanced root chakra is stability and stillness. However, when this chakra is imbalanced one may experience fear of life, withdraw from physical reality, feel victimized, operate in a highly selfish mode, or be prone to violence. Blockages in the root chakra may also manifest in forms of money issues, addictions, and low self esteem.

Since the related parts of the body to the root chakra include the adrenal glands, kidneys, spinal column and leg bones an individual may see physical symptoms in these areas when the root chakra is imbalanced. The most common physical complaints I see in my practice pertaining to the root chakra are pain and problems with the feet, legs and low back.

In my own healing experience with the root chakra I have seen similar results to those I am honored to facilitate in others. As my own root chakra has come into balance and healed my joy in this life has increased. The once daily pain in my low back and legs is gone. When I feel that pain return I stop and focus on healing that chakra allowing the life energy to flow through it and the pain subsides.

Beneficial to healing the root chakra are sitting in nature, planting a garden, physical activity, massage, Reiki, and writing in a “gratitude journal.” A gratitude journal helps you to see the beauty, love and joy in life. In my own experience a gratitude journal carried me through the darkness of abuse to a new life I chose to create. Helpful crystals for healing the root chakra include jasper and obsidian. Healing oils beneficial for the root chakra include Young Living Oils Valor® and Abundance.  Key healing words are courage, security, safety, grounding and boundaries.

Wishing You Wellness

Detox Me

Detox Me

by Regina Ann

If a beautiful flower is planted in the garden but weeds have been allowed to grow, there is not enough room for the flower to bloom as intended.  Through the act of living our emotional, mental, physical and spiritual bodies accumulate toxins. Over time toxins build up and can affect the quality of life we experience. Detoxing allows the release of built up toxins freeing our bodies to once again operate at optimal levels. What follows is some time proven, gentle detox techniques for body, mind and spirit.

Keep in mind that what affects one body can affect all bodies.  If you are carrying a mental or emotional burden (toxin) it can result in physical symptoms. If you are in conflict spiritually, it can express itself mentally, emotionally and/or physically. Many of the techniques offered here can detox all bodies at the same time.

Physical Detox:

The first technique I offer for physical detox is a 30 day modified elimination diet which will help your body detox and can reveal foods that are causing allergic responses in your body. Often we are consuming foods which are causing allergic responses and we are not even aware of it. If the allergy or sensitivity is mild we may not even realize there is a problem. Allergy symptoms can be so broad as to be easily mistaken for other issues.

For me personally, when I went through this process I learned I had some allergies I never realized. When I eliminated those foods I lost weight (rapidly), my energy increased dramatically, and several aches and pains and areas of discomfort simply went away. In my experience with others who have used this technique, this is the norm.

Additional techniques which are highly effective for physical detoxing include:

Reiki
Trauma Release Therapy
and Qi Gong

Hydration is the number one most important part of any detox! If you are not flushing your system with pure water adequately your body is unable to properly release the toxins you are trying to get rid of.  There are many opinions as to the amount of water you should drink. My rule of thumb has always been 6-8 8 ounce glasses per day. Drinking too much water is as dangerous as not drinking enough. Balance in all things is the key to success.

Mental / Emotional Detox:

Emotional trauma remains in the emotional/mental body long after the original event. Unless we take time to detox the emotions and their sources we continue to carry them with us. Situations, experiences and events that may seem unrelated can trigger the emotions connected to these original events adding to the toxic pool.

Mental / Emotional Detoxing is a matter of allowing ourselves to examine the emotion, locate the source, evaluate the truths and choose to release and replace it with new truths that align with who we are now. There are many techniques to assist us in this process. Some of the techniques I have personally utilized include:

Bridging the Minds Technique
Reiki
Trauma Release Therapy
Free-Writing / Journaling

Mental / Emotional Detoxing is a process that affects all of the body systems. During and after the detox process you should follow a Detox Care Program to ease yourself through it.

Spiritual Detox:

Living in conflict with our spiritual truth, our spiritual essence creates disharmony.  One of the results of this disharmony is that we carry toxic residue from the conflict(s) in our spiritual, mental, emotional, physical bodies. Spiritual detoxing allows the release of toxic residues creating an environment for harmony to exist.

Some common conflicts I have seen in myself and my practice include: living by someone else’s spiritual beliefs that are contrary to your core beliefs, living by societies spiritual expectations that go against your core spiritual beliefs, and not allowing yourself to acknowledge your spiritual beliefs. These are just a few examples of how spiritual toxins can build up within.

Spiritual Detox techniques that may work for you include:

Meditation
Yoga
Reiki
Bridging the Minds Technique
Free Writing / Journaling

Spiritual Detoxing is a process that affects all of the body systems. During and after the detox process you should follow a Detox Care Program to ease yourself through it

There are many detox options available and many that are good. These are a few of the ones I rely on for myself and others. The important part of any detox is to first, do it and secondly, be sure that the technique you choose resonates with you.
