Integrative Wholistic Solutions

After much contemplation, consideration, research and listening to my inner voice, a name for my practice has finally been presented to me. Integrative Wholistic Solutions. The name encompasses the services I offer as well as my philosophy of health and wellness.

Integrative means: serving to integrate (blend into a functioning or unified whole)
Wholistic refers to the whole, or whole body of a person or thing. The word defines the consideration of the entire structure or makeup which includes the body, mind and spirit of the being.
Solutions an action or process of solving a problem, resolution.

From the birth of my journey to wellness I discovered that restoring balance and harmony to all the body systems was the key to transformative, life-long, health and wellness. The complimentary medicines, practices, and techniques I have studied and offer through my practice are designed to be easily integrated into every day life and compliment other treatment plans be they alopathic or naturopathic. My desire is to Empower You to Transform your life Body, Mind and Spirit.

Integrative Wholistic Solutions offers an integrative approach to providing health and wellness solutions for the whole person: emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual.

Her Beginning

Her Beginning

she took a step
outside the box
she’d fashioned for herself
she drew first breath
it felt as if
she’d never breathed before
every part of her being
partook the oxygen
sprung open…come to life
in that moment she realized
this was her beginning
all the time spent in her box
comfortable but cramped
living confined
by others defined
now ready to Be her truth
Infinite ~ Divine
leaving behind
the shackles of limitation
in the box
of mans creation
spreading her wings
learning to soar
living victorious
as the creator designed her
in this moment realizing
this is
her beginning

Greatest Gifts

This morning, as I quietly communed, I was shown a most extraordinary gift. A gift that only I could offer myself. A gift that only you may offer yourself. Perhaps one of the Greatest Gifts. Love and Gratitude. For in these two the highest of frequencies flows, the highest of powers is found.

To receive these great gifts one may begin by feeling and expressing love and gratitude for:

~ I AM: the Source of all that is
~ Yourself: for all you have been, all you are, and all you are becoming
~ Those who have demonstrated and embodied love for you, for the remind you to love
~ Those who brought pain to your experience in this life, for they assisted in shaping the you that you are

As we feel and express, and as we allow ourselves to receive, love and gratitude we open one of the greatest gifts known to humanity.

Radio Show Recap 3/7/2013

Yesterday we began our exploration of The Master Key. We had a beautiful discussion of the principles of the introduction and explored Part 1. Here is my favorite part of the introduction to part one.

"The things of this world are fluid to a power within man by which he rules them. You need not acquire this power. You already have it."

Fabulous Frankincense

Fabulous Frankincense

by Regina Ann

Frankincense, Boswellia carteri, is considered the "holy anointing oil" in the Middle East and has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. The Chinese have used frankincense as treatment for a wide range of ailments since ancient times. Frankincense is still being used worldwide both ceremonially and medicinally.  Recently, there has been exciting research shared regarding frankincense and cancer.

Frankincense contains sesquiterpenes which stimulate the limbic system of the brain, the center of memory and emotions, as well as the hypothalamus, pineal, and pituitary glands.  It may be used topically, as a dietary supplement or diffused.  It is held in high regard by many who believe it can ease minor aches and pains, clear the lungs, soothe the skin, reduce wrinkles, and calm and soothe the body and mind. Many people worldwide use frankincense as part of their meditation practice believing that it better helps them be still and quiet to connect with their inner self.

Common applications and uses for frankincense include:
  • Diffusing into the air to ease congestion and voice loss, and to relax and reduce stress
  • Blending with pure oils such as coconut, olive, almond, or massage oils to reduce aches and pains
  • Added to bath water to improve circulation
  • Applied neat to wounds, sores, ulcers or as an astringent to the skin
  • Incorporated into creams and lotions to improve the skin
  • As a compress or wound wash to aid healing
While preparing this article I decided to expand my use of frankincense and have been very pleased with the results. I have used it for some time in my Reiki and Shaman practices. Recently I have been using it to treat a wound I received to my hand. One very pleasant side effect is the fragrance of frankincense. Although I may be applying it to a wound or aching muscles the aroma is quite relaxing and stimulating at the same time adding to the overall benefits I receive when I use it. People tend to ask what the wonderful “perfume” is that I am wearing as well (bonus).

~ Did You Know?
Frankincense trees grow without soil out of polished marble rocks.

Balanced pH

Balanced pH

by Regina Ann

One of the first things I learned from my naturopathic practitioner on my journey to wellness was that there are two physical requirements for disease to survive and thrive. Disease MUST have a low oxygen, high acid environment to live. Oxygenate and Balance the Blood pH and disease responds much like a fire with nothing to burn and no oxygen to keep it going. In the archived articles you can find the article on Balancing the Breath. In that article you will find tips to increase the oxygen level of the blood and body system. This article will focus on creating Balanced pH levels.

The pH scale is 0 – 14 going Acid to Alkaline. Healthy pH is considered slightly above center, in the 7.35-7.45 range. Just as a highly acid blood pH can cause problems, so to can a highly alkaline blood pH. The key to health and wellness is balance.  Alkaline pH is far less often the case due to contributing factors of the pH level.

Research I am familiar with indicates that the blood pH typically stays within close to balanced range by design. Meaning, our body finds ways to compensate for any imbalance in order to ensure survival. Therefore, whereas an alkaline diet may not directly affect your blood pH, it will affect the amount of energy your body is expending and the resources being robbed from your body to maintain a healthy blood pH. One of the places known to suffer in order to maintain blood pH is the bones. Research has indicated that the calcium in bones is often robbed by the body to maintain healthy blood pH levels.

Acidic pH levels can be the result of many factors, some of which include:

  • An Acid Forming Diet. The typical diet, especially in the U.S., is comprised mainly of acid forming foods and drink. The use of Artificial Sweeteners in our diet also contributes to blood acidity.
  • Stress. Stress not only increases blood acidity but decreases our blood oxygen as well.
  • Toxic Overload. Whether environmental or emotional, toxins that are not released in healthy ways build up creating a toxic environment in the body. A toxic environment is an acidic environment.
  • Exhalation. According to Dr. Weil, “the primary we get rid of excess acid is by breathing out carbon dioxide.” Therefore, breathing deeply and exhaling fully allows our body to rid itself of excess acidity.

Currently there are tests for blood pH, saliva pH, and urine pH. My experience has been that being aware of the pH of my saliva helps me make adjustments to reduce the stress of my body to maintain a healthy blood pH. This is the method that was recommended to me by my holistic health practitioners and it has served me well. Test strips for saliva pH are more common now and can easily be found in most health food stores and drug stores. You may follow the directions on the pH strips. My practitioner stipulated that I test my pH before rising in the morning using the inside of my cheek to test. The important part being that you not drink or partake of anything prior to testing as it will alter the results.

Modify according to your goals. If your goal is to restore health and wellness, your aim should be approximately 80% Alkaline to 20% Acid Forming contributors.  If your goal is to maintain health and wellness, your aim should be approximately 60% to 40% Alkaline/Acid Forming contributors. Contributors include diet, drink, stress levels, environmental and emotional toxin levels, and fully exhaling.

Being well is achieved through balance. Here are some tips to help you achieve balance and therefore achieve health and wellness.

  1. Balance your contributing factors (i.e. diet, exercise, time commitments, etc.) Be certain that you are making time for healthy nutrition, exercise, relationships, and self-nurturing.
  2. Modify your diet. Balance your diet in a healthy manner for your body. Each body has unique dietary needs. Listen to your body, it will tell you what it needs.
  3. Incorporate healthy ways to release stress and toxic burdens. Some healthy methods include: Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga, Dance, Meditation, Reiki, Massage, etc. Choose the methods that make you and your body happy.
  4. Make time to breathe deeply and exhale fully. Give yourself time each day to focus on your breathing to create a habit of breathing more fully.

Always remember that you did not arrive here in a day so give yourself time to create new habits. Rank the modifications you choose to incorporate by importance to you (highest to lowest) and get started. Take one or two things at a time according to your priority ranking. This method will ensure you the best possible chance for success. It takes some 28 consecutive days to create a habit so commit to your health and wellness.

Find the Alkaline / Acid Chart in the Resource Center on my Transformation Tools page.
